Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Key Robot (rotatekeys.app), its website, dashboard, hosted MCP server and related services (the "Service"), run by Rajan Lakhani doing business as withMagic ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these terms. The robot software that runs in your own GitHub repository is covered by its own license, included in that repository.
1. What Key Robot does
Key Robot sets up a robot in your own GitHub account. On a schedule, or when you ask, the robot creates new API keys with services you connect, updates them where your app reads them, checks your app, and deletes the old keys. If the check fails, it tries to put the old keys back. The robot runs with the permissions you give it, in accounts you control.
2. Your accounts and permission
You must only connect accounts, services and apps that you own or are authorized to manage. You authorize Key Robot and your robot to create, update and delete keys and settings in those accounts as described. You are responsible for your accounts with third parties (such as GitHub, Netlify, Neon and Resend) and for following their terms.
3. Your responsibilities
- Keep your Key Robot sign-in and your GitHub account secure.
- Review what you connect, and keep separate keys for local development where needed.
- Make sure your app can handle a key change, and watch your app after changes.
- Do not use the Service to break the law, to access accounts you are not allowed to access, or to disrupt the Service or any third-party service.
4. Changing keys carries risk
Replacing and deleting keys can interrupt an app, for example if a key is used in a place the robot does not know about. Key Robot includes an app check and an undo step to reduce this risk, but it cannot remove it. "Kill it now" deletes the old key even if the app check fails, because a leaked key must stop working. You use these features at your own risk.
5. Plans and payment
Free. The free plan covers one app at a time. You may change which app it covers once every 30 days. The free plan does not include access from AI tools through our MCP server.
Pro. Pro costs US$19 per month or US$190 per year, plus any tax that applies. It covers all of your apps, access from AI tools through our MCP server, and email alerts when a run fails. We may change these features, and we will describe the current features on our website.
Founding price. The first 100 people to buy monthly Pro receive US$10 off each month for their first 12 months, so they pay US$9 per month. After 12 months the price becomes the regular monthly price. The offer is applied automatically at checkout while places remain, and it ends when 100 places have been used. It does not apply to yearly Pro.
Billing and renewal. Payments are processed by Stripe. Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year, and you authorize us to charge your payment method for each renewal until you cancel. We will show any price change before it applies to your next renewal.
Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from "Manage my plan" on your dashboard. When you cancel, Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then your account moves to the free plan. No further charges are made after you cancel.
Refunds. We do not give refunds or credits for partial months or years, for unused time, or for apps you did not connect, except where the law requires it. If you switch between monthly and yearly, Stripe adjusts the charge for the time left in your current period (proration), and the change is shown before you confirm it.
6. If we stop the Service
Your robot runs in your own GitHub account, so it keeps running even if the Service stops. We may change, suspend or end any part of the Service. If we plan to end the Service, we will try to give signed-in users at least 30 days of notice by email.
7. Ownership
We own the Service and the robot software. You own your apps, accounts and data. You give us permission to process the limited information described in our privacy policy to run the Service.
8. Suspension and ending your use
You may stop using the Service at any time and delete your robot repository. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if your use puts the Service or others at risk.
9. No warranty
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT PROMISE THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR-FREE, OR THAT IT WILL PREVENT EVERY SECURITY INCIDENT.
10. Limit of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA OR DOWNTIME. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR US $50.
11. Indemnity
You agree to cover our reasonable costs if a third party makes a claim against us because you connected an account you were not authorized to manage or otherwise broke these terms.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. We will update the date above, and for significant changes we will tell signed-in users by email before they take effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the new terms.
